ONCE SAVED, ALWAYS SAVED

Once we are saved, we are always saved. Our salvation is most definitely eternally secure! We are saved because of Christโ€™s merits, not our own.

To claim that we must obey Godโ€™s Word or live a godly life to maintain our salvation is saying that Jesusโ€™ death was not sufficient to pay the penalty for our sins. Jesusโ€™ death was absolutely sufficient to pay for all of our sinsโ€”past, present, and future, pre-salvation and post-salvation. The moment a person truly believes in Jesus Christ, he or she is saved and secure in that salvation.

Does this mean that a Christian can live any way he or she wants to and still be saved? First John 3:6-9 clearly states that a true Christian will not live in continual sin. In response to the accusation that grace promotes sin, the apostle Paul declared, 'What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?'

Eternal security is not a license to sin; rather, it is the security of knowing that Godโ€™s love is guaranteed for those who trust in His Son, Christ.

๐Ÿ™ Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for Your grace, and grace alone, that saves sinners like us.

๐Ÿ“– Daily Devotional ๐Ÿ“–

ONE DAY AT A TIME

As we seek to live out our calling, it is important to consider and live our present reality instead of waiting for some future possibility. Comparing a fantasy future to our daily reality can push us into action, but it can also breed discontent and paralyse us.

We grow restless because we are not at peace with being who we are and where we are. We are often looking to the next big thing to make ourselves relevant, regardless of what God has intended.

Let us recognise the reality we are a part of right now. When we allow that to shape our calling, it sharpens our vision. It is not about whether we can be anything we want to be, but rather that we get to be who we are called to be for a specific purpose, for a specific people, at a specific time and place, not for ourselves but for God.

Let us start engaging in the here and now, in truth, in faith, and in trust of Godโ€™s will, for right now we only have today.

๐Ÿ™ Prayer: Father, help and guide me to be thankful, accepting and observant of my current reality. This is where You have allowed me to be. Today, with these people and these challenges, You have a way to shape my life and purpose for Your honour and glory.
