May the Lord truly bless you as you search to become evermore mature in your Christian faith, bearing testament in all you do, that others may come to know the liberty and power of salvation in and through the Lord Jesus Christ.
Our youth ministry is built on Biblical principles, not fads, hype or shallow youth culture.
We have a responsibility to equip children with everything they need to know about the Lord Jesus Christ and His plan for their lives.
The fundamental Biblical stories are the building blocks in developing young Christians. Our Children’s Church focuses on teaching children about the Scriptures in a fun and safe way.
Our Junior and Senior youth groups meet every Friday during the school term and are purposeful, active, engaging, and spiritual.
Teens are a special focus of our ministry. They are at a point in their lives where they need to know the truth of God’s Word, in order to live a life pleasing to Him and to understand what tasks He has called them to. Teen Church provides those answers to equip them to be examples to their peers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith and in purity. (1 Timothy 4:12)
Preparing our children to face the challenges of the future and building solid foundations in their lives is of utmost importance.
Teaching them the truth of God’s word is integral in shaping their thinking as declared in Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in a way that he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
Children's Church is held every Sunday morning in conjunction with the 09h30 Family Service.
Our aim is threefold:
Make it FUN
Our team of volunteers is comprised of people who are committed and called to teach God's Word.
Every Sunday they bring God's Word to children in a fun and exciting way. Every lesson is age specific and is geared at providing children with the excitement and enjoyment of teaching God's Word through fun activities, object lessons, crafts and worship
Make it SAFE
Your child's safety is of utmost important to us. We have structures and systems that create a safe environment, giving you peace of mind as a parent.
All our volunteers have completed or are busy completing the Christian ministries fundamentals course, and are fully equipped to teach your children God's Word rightly divided.
You as a parent can be sure that every volunteer has your child's best interests in mind as they prepare every lesson.
Make it STICK
Investing in your child's future is important. Especially their spiritual future. Allowing your child to grow in the knowledge of the Lord has no value. It is our mission to facilitate their spiritual growth.
As a parent and church we need to put the correct support structures in NOW, to equip children for the future.
The results of the effort you put in now will only be seen later in life, but building that foundation starts at children's church.
Our curriculum is focused on educating children about God's Word at an age appropriate level.
We want to set children up for success in the world as they learn to apply God's Word to their lives.
Children's Church experience made easy
For those parents who have babies, we welcome you to our nursing room adjacent to the church. There you can enjoy the service with your baby.
Toddlers and Children: Age 3 - Grade 1
We have a specific area that is designated for toddlers and children.
Please make your way to the upperdeck to sign your child in. A volunteer will be there to welcome you and your child. After the service children will need to be signed out.
Children's Church: Grade 3 - 6
Children meet in the Bruce Woolard hall where a volunteer will help you sign your children in. There will be craft stations set up for children. At 9:30 am everyone will move to their relevant classrooms for their lessons.
Parents must sign their children out in the Bruce Woolard hall after the service.
We cant wait to meet you
The first time you arrive for childrens church you will be greeted by volunteers who will help you complete a registration form and sign your child in.
Your child will then receive a name tag as a welcome package.
The registration form will ask for all you and your childs relevant particulars as well as any other information we should know (special needs, allergies etc.).
We will use the number you give us if for any reason we need to contact you during the service. An sms will be sent to that number and we will meet you in reception.
Partnering with Parents
As a parent you are the crucial link between us and your child.
We want to build a relationship with you, in order to support you as you nurture your child's spiritual growth and development.
Weekly emails will be sent out with information helping you to engage with your child in spirit-filled conversations throughout the week.
We are here from Monday to Sunday for any questions or discussion you may have.
Our aim is to create a youth culture where everyone belongs and can make a difference.
First time at Youth
We love seeing new faces! Every first time guest will need to fill in a registration form, which will ask for all particulars of parents as well as those of the child/teenager. Our group of volunteers will go above and beyond to help your child/teenager feel right at home from the first step.
From start to finish we want the process to be easy for parents and welcoming and have fun for children/teenagers.
What about safety?
We know that nothing is more important than the safety and security of every child. God has entrusted us with caring for your children and we are humbled by this privilege. Here are some of the things we do to keep your child/teenager safe and secure:
- Registration on first visit.
- Perimeter gates and exits are locked during youth groups.
- Parent / Guardian contact information is kept on hand at all times.
- All Junior / Senior leaders have been screened and are dedicated to maintaining a safe environment at youth.
Children learn and grow best when they are having fun. Youth is FUN.
Our aim is for children to come to youth every Friday with a smile and excited to participate in our youth group activities. Parent's can expect them to leave youth with an even bigger smile excited for the next weeks youth group.
As a teenager feeling like you are connected to something is important. Youth Unlimited is your connection to the things that are important. Being with us on a Friday night is AWESOME. We encourage teens to have fun while at the same time developing relational and social abilities.
Teenagers will become skilled at applying God's principles to the issues they face in their everyday lives - home, school, eveywhere.

At St Marks we understand the social, emotional, physical and spiritual pressures teenagers face. We want to walk with them on their journey to young adulthood. Teen Church is a place where God’s Word is applied to teenage life. The pressures teenagers face are real, we want to make sure they are equipped to handle those pressures from God’s perspective.
As a parent, we want you to trust that we have your teen's best interest at heart. Our aim is to provide a solid spiritual foundation that will equip them to face the challenges of life. Teenagers need an environment to express their social, emotional and faith struggles with other like-minded teenagers.
The journey to adulthood has many highlights and lowlights. At teen church we want to celebrate the good times and be there for your teenager during the difficult times. Our model is based on 2 Timothy 3:16-17 – where each individual is mentored, instructed in doctrine and equipped for every good work.
Every Sunday of the school term, during the 09:30 Family Service, we meet in the school conference centre, where we have open discussions on current topics and are presented a lesson dealing with pertinent biblical principles or participate in a small group facilitated by youth leaders.
“Teen Church gave me the tools to develop my relationship with the Lord. More importantly it helped me to establish my Christian identity”. – Darren Benecke (Youth Pastor, attended St Marks since age 6)
